Youth Movement

The youth wing of C.S.I Christ church commenced this year’s activities on 29/04/06.A general body meeting was held on that day at c.s.i church kodukulanji and elected new committee members and secretary for this year . Riju was selected as the secretary and Stefy Susen as the joint secretary.The committee members are Anila Susan, Susan P Jacob, Benson Philip , Abin C John , Lijo Mathew and Cherian V Koshy . The diocesan counsel members for youth movement are master Anil Idicula and Roy Cherian.This year’s general meeting of C.S.I christ church has decided to participate youth movement members on every 4th Sunday worship. This paved the way for youth members taking over the lead of responsibilities of the Sunday’s worship.For developing and enhancing the various artistic talents of young members an artistic event was conducted ‘ chitrasala 06’ at 13\5\06 on C.S.I Christ church parish hall . At that workshop various painting competitions were held and prizes were distributed to the winners. The competitions was conducted by Sajan Chandy . An exhibition named ‘drizya virunnu06’ was held on 28\5\06 . In this exhibition various handicraft items , old coins , foreign newspapers, historical books, stamps was displayed. Through this exhibition the youth movement has also digitized the C.S.I church history into CD format so that it can be viewed for easy reference.

The main projects of youth movement this year was giving support for Andhra Mission field activities, distributing school uniforms for C.M.S.U.P school for poor students. For meeting the financial expense of these projects, youth movement has conducted a program ‘glimz06’ . The main objective of this program was to encourage the various artistic talents of our young members and to provide a platform for supporting these people . In this stage show, various events like solo, mime, drama, fusion, fire dance and group songs. Tthese program’s were performed by youth members . The main highlight of this show was the drama ‘final days' .The drama was appreciated for its creative theme and way of presentation . By this event the youth movement has managed to collect around RS 25,000, after the expense RS 10,000 was handed over to Andra Mission missionary Biju Varghese . The uniforms were given to C.M.S.U.P school students at a meeting held on 31\7\06 at the school compound which was presided over by Ala panachayat president and church committee members.

This year’s youth week was conducted from September 24th to October 1st. Various events and activities were held on each day of this week . On Sep 24th a study class on the C.S.I history was held at the parish hall . The class was presided by Rev.Chandy Jose. During these days youth movement members visited houses of our church members under the guidance of our vicar Rev. Dr. Kurivilla George . On the last day of this week youth movement conducted prayer meetings and conventions on our church. These activities were guided by Campus Crusade member Mr.Sunil Thomas. Youth movement member regularly Conducts house prayers on every Sunday evenings. Also youth meeting is also been conducted on every Sundays , in theses meetings debates and talks on various topics were organized . All committee members meets on every first Sundays of each month to plan that month’s activities. We also conducts prayer meetings at houses of those who were not able to attend the church prayers . These prayer meetings provides great relief to people who were not able to attend church due to poor health and other problems.

As part of this year Christmas celebrations Youth movement has visited houses of all church members with Christmas carol songs for spreading the Christmas message . Rs 20,000 was collected from this year’s Christmas carol rounds.

This year Youth movement is planning to conduct a set of activities such as blood donors form, hand written magazine, career guidance program .Youth movement is planning to make the church compound an eco friendly compound by planting more tree saplings.
